Why so many A's ?

Sigh...You know what ? I think scoring 11, 10, 9, or 8A's in SPM ain't gonna make much difference at all. Unless I qualify for a scholarship, of course. But that too looks unlikely, since I wasn't really active in co-curricular activities. Looking at the options other than scholarships ---> A-Levels, STPM, Degree, Local and Foreign Matriculation, the minimum requirements are only 4 or 5 credits. So I can still choose any of the above without actually having to score straight A's in SPM, and I think, many people are beginning to realise that 3A's and 7B's aint actually so bad. Maybe thats why this year, we saw less suicides committed by students. Haha.

By looking into that perspective, I guess I'm a bit selfish. If I go to, lets say, INTI College to do my A-Levels, I'll meet a new friend who'll probably ask me :
"How many A's did u score ?"
I'd said "10, you ?"
And he'll laugh and say "Haha. I only scored 6! And look, we're here in the same class !"
So whats the point of scoring so many A's anyway ?

By now, I'm really hoping I'd get at least 1 of the many scholarships that I've applied.
Oh ya...any of you readers who wants to sponser me , please don't hesistate to contact me !

David Beckham : My Side

The Book

Bought this really great auto-biography yesterday, at Amcorp Mall during my lunch break. Although I'm not really a fan of Beckham, I still find his book worth reading. He narrates his life from as young as he could remember, till now, David Beckham of 2005, the most recognisable footballer on this planet. In his book, we'll also get to experience the metamorphosis of his life from the young David, playing his football in his local park, signing for United, his love life with Victoria, his sons Brooklyn and Romeo, his relationship with football managers, the 1998 sending of at the World Cup, and finally, his transfer to Real Madrid.

At RM 49.90, its much cheaper than when it was first out last year. Oh, and there's some cool pics of him too !

If I am manager of Manchester United (Part 1)

If I was Manager of Manchester United, I would be sackable, Haha..like every other manager, including *gasp* ! Sir Alex Ferguson. But, with 2 seasons gone and not with nothing to show, changes are inevitable, right ? So lets imagine this scenario ; Sir Alex is sacked in May after United finished 2nd in the league and lost the FA Cup Final to Blackburn. The board signs a relatively unknown manager with little experience (thats me !).

Backroom Staff
Like most clubs, when the manager goes, the whole backroom staff leaves too. But I would retain most of them. Carlos Quieroz would remain as my assistant while Dr Mike Stone, the club doctor, Robert Swires, the physiotherapist, and Albert the kitman are some of those who will stay. Martin Ferguson though, will follow his big bro through the exit door. He's mainly responsible for donkeys like Forlan, Djemba and Kleberson.

Transfer Market
With the 2005-2006 budget spent on Rooney last season, we'll need to sell to buy. I'll get rid of Carroll, Bellion, P. Neville, Quinton Fortune and Miller. With that and the sale of Djemba to Villa, I'll probably recruit in another 15m pounds. As for the goalkeeper, I have faith in Howard. His 1st season was superb, he's just suffering from that 2nd season syndrome. I'll also give Kleberson another chance. He won the World Cup so he must be something, right ? Who on earth can I buy with 15m ? A replacement for Keane ? A new keeper ? A creative midfielder ? Keane will be 34 in 2006. So perhaps thats the first priority. So who are the candidates ? Gattuso, Emerson, Marquez, Gerrard would be ideal. But with only 15m, I'd go for Gattuso. I love Italians. Haha

Tactics
This is gonna be tough. My favourite formation is the 4-2-3-1. Howard would be my no.1 , Neville, Ferdy, Silvestre and Heinze make up the back four. Keane, Scholes, Gattuso, Kleberson would battle for the 2 central midfield berth. Giggs and Ronaldo would start on the wings, and Rooney would play in the 'hole' behind Ruud van Nistelrooy. Sounds simple ? For away games, or tougher home games, I would go for a 4-3-2-1 or a 4-1-3-2. Against teams wilth stars like Ronaldinho, Kaka, Robben, a 4-1-3-2 is quite useful with an extra man-marker.

New Speakers !!

New Speakers !

Oh well, since I started using this new flat screen monitor, I had to depend on the sucky built-in speaker which produces such terrible sound quality. So, for my dad decided to buy this excellent Altec Lansing ATP3 Speakers with Subwoofer !

So now I have the complete set ! (Well almost) A new monitor, new printer, new hard drive and a new set of speakers !

Here are some of the reviews :

Zdnet.com
“The ATP3’s space efficient desktop satellites make an indelible aesthetic impression even before they pump out their first note.” “outperforms most other sub-$100 units and looks cool, to boot. It’s a tough combination to beat.”

ON

“Great sound, reasonable price and a snazzy compact design.”

PC UpgradeDavid Drucker
“Music lovers with limited desk space are well served by the ATP3’s thin-profile satellites, …down-firing drivers output is acoustically coupled to the desk surface for richer, fuller sound.”

Period of Inactivity

I feel sorry for you fellow readers for your consistent visits during this 7-day period of inactivity. If there is any consolation, enjoy this post ! Haha. I've been really busy, really.

Since obtaining my results on Thursday, I've been trying to be on the lookout for any scholarships available. I know my chances are low, but its worth a shot. So far I've applied for the ASEAN, STAR, NST and JPA scholarships. Tell me if you have any info on others ya ?

I went to Penang on Monday and came back on Wednesday. Relatively boring it has been, since the passing if my Uncle last year. Nonetheless, I still enjoyed it especially with the generosity of the rooster year still on. ($$$)

Back to work today, at Amcorp Mall. Its my 3rd week here. Lets have a look at the pros and cons.

Pros : High pay, free transport, sitting is allowed
Cons : BORING ! expensive food, no break, no commision.

Although Cons outnumber the pros, I still think its worth it. I'll probably continue after I start studying. Sundays are always available, and I can earn an additional RM200 a month. I've not been tutoring lately, and I guess I've to cut down on it. 7 hours a week wouldnt be a problem, and tutoring alone would bring in RM120.

Allowance + Amcorp + Tutoring = RM 520 a month when I'm studying !

S.P.M.

I'm not trying to brag or anything, but I scored straight A's !! (9A1 1A2) How unbelievable is that ? And to think I only target 7A's prior to this. Hahahaha !

New Photo Printer !

Finally ! May my stupid old Lexmark Z12 printer rest in peace. After 5 years of using that useless machine which was more error-prone rather than reliable, I've got a brand new Canon Photo Printer, the PRIXMA iP2000 !

The New iP2000

Its not really expensive, an affordable price of only RM 320. It even comes with 5 free fully glossed photo paper !
Here's an article from Canon.

Photo Quality and Versatility Made Easy.
Simple operation and great results. If you're looking for a high quality, easy-to-use printer, the Canon PIXMA™ iP2000 Photo Printer is perfect for you. It delivers exceptional results and impressive speed, all with a stylish new design. The quality story starts with Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE). It uses an innovative 1,088-nozzle print head that ejects consistent and precise ink droplets as small as 2 picoliters! This patented technology produces outstanding resolution and clear, detailed images of your photos. Simply put, more nozzles with higher accuracy equal better results. You can even produce brilliant edge-to-edge borderless photos in a variety of sizes, with the look and feel of traditional photographs. This sensible printer also uses a special pigment-based black ink for laser-like text on reports and e-mails, along with high-intensity color inks for vivid photos and graphics. You're going to love the results.

Now, let's talk speed. The PIXMA iP2000 Photo Printer is incredibly fast, able to print up to 20 ppm in black and up to 14 ppm in color1. A beautiful 4" x 6" borderless print takes about 50 seconds1. Not only is the iP2000 fast, but because of its new drive system, it's quiet too -- perfect for the dorm room or the family study.

Print direct from a digital camera.
With direct photo printing, you get the convenience of printing without a computer. Just connect any PictBridge-compatible digital camera or DV camcorder, and print!2 This saves you a couple of steps, so you can quickly print and share your photos.

My First Time

When I first started this blog, I was so excited and started posting everyday. Now looks like I'm getting more and more lazier. Haha. So typical of me.

Anyway, I have been woking effortlessly for 27 hours in just 3 days, which included 11 energy-sapping hours today at Linen & Things Amcorp Mall. Phew ! I had my first Indian customer who actually bought something from me ! How incredible is that ! 4 months working and this is my very first Indian customer ! (no disrespect to Indians, I'm not a racist of any sort).

Back to my 1st job, the tuition teacher, I was totally ecstatic when one of my students managed to score highest for Penulisan (Malay Composition) in his class ! And he's never scored an A in this subject before, which makes it even more amazing. Wow, I didnt realise I was THAT good. Hahahaha.

Oh ya, thanks for your "wonderful" response for the ASEAN Scholarship thingy. You guys are "fantastic people".

SPM result is coming out next Thursday. How exciting ! I'm gonna celebrate no matter how many A's I score. Its the effort that matters more.

United drew against Palace. What mediocrity. The title is officially Chelsea's . Better concentrate more on the Champions League.

Apparently, my hands are too tired to type, so I could only manage 25-40 words a paragraph.

Good Night.
