Dreams

Now here you go again, you say you want your freedom
Well who am I to keep you down
It's only right that you should play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound
Of your loneliness

Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost

Yeah, thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Yeah, women they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean you'll know, you'll know...

Now here I go again, I see the crystal visions
I keep my visions to myself
Well It's only me that wants to wrap around your dreams and
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell
Dreams of loneliness

Like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
and what you lost,
Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Yeah, women they will come and they will go,
When the rain washes you clean you'll know...

Yeah, thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
Yeah, women they will come and they will go,
When the rain washes you clean you'll know, you'll know,
you'll know.......

Rooney !!

Rooney !!

Seriously, I wanted to watch the match, but I can't, coz I had been sleeping late the past few nights.. and my mom has not been really happy about it..I thought I could give this match a miss, coz..you know, being a Cup match, Fergie would probably be resting a few players to keep them fresh for the Arsenal game on Tuesday.

How wrong was I, as Rooney and Ronaldo produced one of their best displays of the season so far against a lacklustre Boro side.

I was especially pleased with Rooney's 2 goals, with critics critising him for not living up to his price tag lately.

His first goal was simply sublime. A pass by captain of the day, Gary Neville, slipped through to Rooney, who did well to stay onside. However, what made the finish so stunning, was the ball was actually rolling on the ground, instead of bouncing up and down.

Sheer Strength

His second, was an exhibition of Rooney's brutal strength he possesses as he thundered a powerful right-footed volley. All the keeper could see was blur bullet flying pass him into the upper corner of the net.

I sure wouldn't want to miss the thriller on Tuesday morning !

United 1 - 2 Chelsea

Howard rooted to the spot

Chelsea MUST NOT win the quadruple and beat the record set by United (1999 Treble). Tim Howard however, failed to realise that, and gifted Chelsea the winner in the 88th minute. While Jose Mourinho played his strongest possible line-up, Fergie decided to drop Rooney and played a 4-5-1 and crowded the midfield ala Bolton, Palace, etc.

The plan backfired however, as Chelsea stormed to a 1-0 lead through Lampard and had numerous chances to kill of the game. A wonderful goal by Giggs kept us in the game. Extra-time was looming until a Damien Duff free-kick from the touchline eluded everyone including Howard and bounce into the roof of the net. John O'Shea had warned us about his compatriot but it looks like no one listened.

No one listened to me !

I wanted us to win not because the Carling Cup is the main priority, but to prevent Chelsea from winning all 4 trophies and putting a psychological dent on Chelsea's morale.

I wont be saying this often, but lets hope Liverpool win on the 27th of February

Its silver colour from Acer and has built-in speakers ( but the sound quality is not as good as the old one ) But still the graphics is just fantastic ! Haha.. now the computer table looks so spacious !

The Problem With United

How long will we be seeing this celebration ?

Multi-talented, multi-national, yes I know. Still, I couldn't help feeling that our squad is still lacking behind Arsenal and Chelsea. The only obvious reason wht we are ahead of Arsenal in the form table is because of the lack of character shown by Wenger's men since the defeat at Old Trafford.

I must praise Fergie's abilities to instill the grit, determination and fighting spirit into our multi-millionaire players. However, sheer determination and hard work alone do not guarantee any success. Talent, tactical mastery and depth in squad is a must. Lets take a look at Unted's aging midfield. From left to right , United's first choice are Giggs (31), Keane (33), Scholes (30) and Ronaldo (19). Lets now look back at our midfield during our treble season ; Giggs (26), Keane (28), Scholes (25) and Beckham (24)

Of the quartet who won the treble, 3 of them still features prominently in Fergie's plans. 6 years and Fergie is still depending on the same bunch of players to chase for honours. Season 2004-2005 is said to be a transition period for United. Players such as Djemba-Djemba (23), Ronaldo (19), Kleberson (25) and Miller (23) were brought in to replace the old guards.

Unfortunately, things didnt turn out successfully as it was hoped. Only Ronaldo, the youngest, managed to impress. Dubbed the new Luis Figo, Ronaldo is often critisied for his erratic step-overs than his wing wizardry and goal prowess. However, on quite a number of occasions this season and the season before, Ronaldo has been instrumental and inspirational in our attacks. At the age of 19, he has plenty of time to improve.

One step-over too many ?

In Brazil's victorious World Cup in Japan, they played a 5-2-3 formation, with 2 defensive midfielders in Gilberto Silva and Kleberson. While Gilberto is enjoying success at Arsenal, the same cant be said about Kleberson. Often caught out of position, frequently losing possesion and some erratic passing, Kleberson has only been limited to cameo appearances in the Carling Cup.

To replace Roy Keane of Cork, Fergie decided to go for another guy from Cork, Liam Miller. Miller was handed a few appearances at the early stages of the season but failed to impress the gaffer that he was the ready made replacement for Keane.

What now for United ? Will Giggs, Scholes and Keane be playing on until their 40s ?? Ideally, Steven Gerrard would be the man we should be targeting in the summer. But even if Liverpool were relegated, he would not come. Understandable, I guess. Without a strong and creative midfield, even the likes of Ruud, Rooney, Smith and Saha wouldnt be able to find the net so often.

After blowing our transfer kitty for next season with the purchase of chubby-horny-little-boy-next-door Wayne Rooney, Fergie has to be a bit thrifty in finding quality new recruits. But why blow 30M pounds on an 18 year old ? Perhaps after missing out on World Player of the Year Ronaldinho and soon-to-be PFA Player of the Year Arjen Robben, Fergie certainly cant afford to miss out on this one.

Often deployed in midfield, Rooney doesnt really add any spark to the attack except for the long range efforts which more often than not ends up in row 32 at stretford end.

Our defence, superbly marshalled by the most elegant defender in the world, Rio Ferdinand and our attack, led by Ruud van Nistelrooy, can match any team on this planet. However, with an aging midfield, the best United can expect is the FA Cup...again..if we beat Mid'sboro..haha
